WTF is that!!!
Saddle is way back on the rails!
Goppage of quite monumental proportions.
Even a blind man on a galloping horse would suggest that the aesthetic has been totally abandoned.
Helen Kellers favourite bike.
Its a 456 carbon, isn't it a beautiful thing SBZ? yeah, I like the saddle back there, I tend to sit on the nose of the saddle on all my bikes.
Needs black forks, de stickered rims and shoe polish on tyre walls. Then you've got stealth bike. Oh and sort the seat out.
Nice garden , but those leaves need picking up asap, its not autumn anymore!
Saddle looks bit too far forward, maybe a layback post would help.
Also, is that a brown chain?
don't hold back boys n girls. its functional....honest. It's fun to ride and it'll definitely get me fit.
who ever put those posts in needs a new spirit level
Chain is kind of brown. Its some halflink thing that I bought from swinnertons at the last minute. The chaintug doesn't fit on the dropout properly which is kind of irritating. Oh yeah, the revs were a bargain too.
Unfortunately its not my garden, tis the edge of the local woods.
I went to all that trouble lining up the logos and you want me to blank them out? This place is goin to the dogs I tell thee.
Needs a gold chain and the saddle put in the correct place.
I'd have put on a bigger fork personally. But otherwise I think it looks rad. Go and thrash it.
That has a very purposeful look to it, I like it.
the fork is wound down to 120 in that picture, goes up to 150. It had a good ride out today exploring the local shropshire/blackcountry bridleways, might take it to visit my mate up gisburn way next weekend and really screw my legs up.
Thoughts?
Its frikin' minging?
HTH.
Went to one-ons' shop last weekend and saw these in the flesh...
The coloured ones look nice..
The plain black ones?
Not so... ๐
I don't care for their looks, yours isn't an overly pretty example.
So yes, it's hideous. You did ask!
Much more importantly, a) there's not enough mud on it, and b) do you like the way it rides?
I like it I'd bet it's a hooligan ride!
"the fork is wound down to 120 in that picture, goes up to 150"
That's perfect - thrashit downhill, nice light ride uphill.
yeah, so far on the 2 rides its done(once around follow the dog, on old heavy wheels, once around the lanes and bridleways) it has been ace to ride. My legs and lungs are holding it back a bit though. I'm looking forward to testing it out properly over the long mynd and over the NW alps.
It makes a fairly disturbing woodpecker noise when the chain knocks on the chainstay so I think I'm going to have to get the chain tensioner to fit properly and put some tension through it.
Its definitely not pretty. I've had the frame for a while but only just got round to putting it together.
Are they the jejames revs ?
Hope you like it, I love mine- very versatile and uber fun to ride.
Fundamentally they are ugly, an Amanda Holden of the bike world one might say!
yeah, no poploc lever, going to pick one up for it though, I reckon it'll climb really well with the forks locked out. My other bikes aren't lookers either so I can live with the abuse. I'm not sure about the Amanda Holden analogy. My bike has a function.
didn't like these originally but in the flesh they look ok and good in a different kind of way, a bit like Uma Thurman
if I wasn't happy with my hardtail I'd be tempted for the price
.
only comment on your build is why the Saint cranks?
Chain looks a bit loose. Also, why do you need a chainstay protector if you're running SS? (Assuming that is inner tube wrapped around the stay.)
Was half tempted at the sale price on the frame but at 17 and a half stone always be worried about the longevity of it-plus I crash alot. As for your build, who gives a **** what it looks like its how it rides and how much it makes you smile when you are riding it!
Saint cranks cos I like them (and they were a fairly good price and not *that* heavy). At the moment I need the chainstay protector cos the chain is a bit loose. Will shorten it properly and readjust everything when I've filed down the chaintug to fit the dropout.
Also I tend to rub my inner heal on the chainstays and seatstays of my bikes when pedalling. not a problem with my normal shoes but the northwave winter boots have a metal mesh thing that really takes its toll. (not that I've used them on this bike yet)
Seems the bike has split opinion.
Not sure about the front brake hose route...
Sort it out eh!
Nice tyre log alignment though but think I'd set them at 90 degrees to the valves due to the logo's on the rims.
Thats just crazy talk coolhandluke. 90 degrees out? you'll be pitchforked for suggesting it.
brake hose is pretty good compared to some of my other bikes. straight down through the fork whats not to like?
..actually I like the 456c frame...
(I don't mind Vogon poetry either)
Saddle way back on seatpost + layback seatpost + long stem = you bought the wrong frame size.
there's only about 13 mm difference in effective toptube length between the 16" and 18" and I like the standover height. The stem isn't *that* long either. 75mm or so. might play about with the saddle though after all the suggestions.
Vile looking thing, take it away before my eyes melt. please!!
So long as your having fun on it, it doesn't really matter.
like it ๐
oh, dear god.
not my taste, personally ..
but it does look like a hoot!
