The Avid bleed kit makes it really simple and well worth getting IMO.

There is also a video on YouTube on how to do it. Search for avid bleeding.

I did one in 10 minutes with my first atempt.

yep, you need the bleed kit, or, if you're anywhere near Marsden, West Yorks, pop round with your bike and use mine....

If you're looking for a kit on the cheap, apparently the Formula one fits perfectly.

I'm down in Swindon with an Avid kit and have dot5 if you need it? I used an avid kit to do my formulas, I wrote a thread about it, here you go: http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/bleeding-brakes-how-to-an-idiots-guide

Ignore all instructions..... I bled mine as a complete system without pulling the levers in and they worked brilliantly from then on! Just make sure to push the pads back first.
