Im removing my avid elixir from my forks as im sending them away to get serviced. Im sure theres something i can place between the pads to stop the need for bleeding when i replace them.. can anyone shed some light on this? 😕

You should get spacers when you buy the brakes/bike.

If you don't have any, your local bike shop should have plenty knocking about.

There should be no need for a bleed. However inserting a pad spacer is the safest way to go.

As long as you don't touch the lever they should bolt striaght back on. If the lever is depressed and the pistons advance (stopping you from getting the wheel back on) simply prize the pads apart with a flat blade screwdriver or similar - taking care not to damage the pad's surface.
