so, put in new (superstar) pads into my elixirs.

VERY tight squeeze, pistons pushed right back, managed to jam the back wheel in, but barely turning. I did a few rolls down the hill to try to bed in the brakes. seemed to work a bit.

got bike out this morning and wheel turning freely.

rode to work.

got off bike and wheel barely turning again..

so, what options do I have?

file down the pads a bit?

too much oil in reservoir?

sticky piston?

Have I missed anything?

STW wisdom required!

I had the exact same issue with my Superstar pads.

Is it the first set of replacement pads?

All I did was file the thick'ish paint/coating off the back of the pads and all was fine after that.

My 2nd replacement set were a little looser so I think it's the luck of the draw to be honest.

Good pads though once bedded in

Update.

got annoyed with mega brake rub at lunchtime yesterday poopping down the shops.

took pads out, rubbed braking surface on the curb for a bit (amazing how quickly they wear down on an abrasive surface)

pads back in. all working perfecto.
