I've got 6 month old ish Elixirs on my bike and since new I have used the circular knob inside the leaver to (what feels like) increasing the bite on the disc and moving the leaver from the bar.
However out riding last and there was a clicking noise as I pulled the leaver (like a ratchet was failing) and the leaver pulled much closer to the bar.
There is no sign of fluid leakage anywhere...

If they're like the elixir r's the knob is for lever reach adjustment.
The ratchet sound could have been air.
