We will be in touch
I recently brought some Codes to make a set of Avid frankenbrakes. Code caliper and Juicy carbon levers. They work a treat, I'm very pleased there.
However, their evil twins, the Code lever + Juicy caliper setup are not as jolly. One (the rear) is all fine and dandy but over the last day or so I've been trying to set up the front. Major probs here, the lever just wont move 'nicely' at all. I've properly bled (I really, really have done this, following the manual, the YouTube vids etc) the system- to no avail, just a jamming, notchy lever. It felt like a 'mechanical' problem rather than a 'hydraulic' one so I stripped the master cylider/ lever assembly. The worm gear has sheared off at the base and is spinning uselessly on the master piston. It seems to be nasty cheesy alloy- so I'm rather reticent about running a die over the piston plus I'm uncertain about the thread anyway. UberSuperglue to the rescue to line it all up for reassembly.
So- any similar experiences? And how to solve? And any sources off spare parts at a reasonable price?
Reassembled now and about to be bled.
Wish me luck...
You can check the availability and price on Fisher outdoor and leisure's site, any shop should be able to then order the part.Good luck, as there are pages and pages of spares listed, probably extortionately priced, and a high likelyhood of the shop receiving the incorrect part.
.................and a very high likelyhood that Fisher won't have the spare part you need for months..................and more months..........years.....................decades................................f******* centuries.
Something very similar happened to a mate of mine. I think he crashed and knackered the thread on the reach adjuster.
I got the parts from uk bike store who were incredibly helpful, from memory the kit is called lever gear intervals or similar and was about £30. Give them a shout.

Think this might be the one, probably best to download the parts guide from sram to check,
http://www.ukbikestore.co.uk/product/138/a150150/avid-code-lever-internals--gear-kit-x1.html only £20

not that this will help with your current problem....
Ive been running Juicy Carbon Levers, Goodridge Hoses and Avid 2009 Code Callipers for over a year now and had no problems front or back..
hope you get it sorted mate...
Sorted- I think. The worm gear assembly was bust, plus when I shortened the hose I managed to screw the barb between the liner and the sidewall of the hydraulic hose. And then I managed to improperly locate the hose/ olive/ union nut by not seating it properly. It has taken 3 olives, lots of fluid and handfulls of torn out hair to sort it. The lesson to be learned is not to do it at Silly O'clock in the morning.
It is for my son's bike. Almost finished now 🙂
