I hopefully shall be finishing up in Athens later next month at the end of a bike tour.
I will be flying out of Athens International Airport and need to get me & my boxed up bike there from the city.
Anyone had any experience of getting to and from the airport with a bike bag/ box?
Was thinking of just booking a big taxi in advance to save the hassle.
Any help appreciated
I've not travelled with a bike through Athens, but have used the Metro to the airport many times. It's a very decent modern service and can't see why it'd be too much hassle. If you're traveling from Piraeus the station is at street level and there's a direct train to the airport now so would be fairly simple. In the central city there are escalators so might be a bit more hassle.
From memory a taxi would cost €60-70
