These are on offer on eBay 26x2.4 folding for£39.99 for a pair. Should I buy.

Not even if they were cheap, which they aren't. Black chili Mountain Kings are ordinary at best tbh, cheapo ones are like something from the late 80s.

I will try and elaborate - NO!

In other words cheap OEM stuff. The chilli versions are fine ime - even if they have lots of detractors.

Basically - they're like cheap rock hard "ever last" car tyres.

I've used conti's of various sorts for years - never had the black chilli variant in any type. Got ordinary Mountain Kings on my Singlespeed, and I'd buy 'em again.

Bought as set from onone.(2.4 i think)
1 ride and fleabayed them.Downright dangerous as just no grip at all.
Scared the bejesus out of me..

I have some UST non Black Chilli Mountain King Mk1s on my hardtail. They've been fine TBH.

i had them and thought they were poo. went and bought a set of bontrager xr4's, way better..
