Ever since way before Black Friday they seem to have a permanent sale ? If it's not BF it's BF week , same with Cyber Monday. The other day I get an email giving me 30% off but only until 2 pm that day then it drops to 20 until 5 then 10 after . All the while 30% off seems to be the norm anyway ?

RRP seem to be Mickey Mouse numbers when Leisure Lakes and others seem to permanently discount the kit anyway . MT500 Spray trousers have been brilliant from LL for about £63 .

It’s a toss up between them and Hunt Wheels.

Anyone buying at full price from Hunt must be insane, there’s always a 30% off sale just round the corner, usually along with a further 10% off code a few days in to the sale. It’s very odd for a company that a few years back used to pride themselves on never having Black Friday sales etc and instead selling at good prices all year.

Who knows what’s happening with Endura, they seem to have been circling the drain for a while but just won’t die off.

Working for me, due to a recent cold snap here in Spain, I'm dressed like an Endura tribute act..The thermaloft jacket I got for £50 RRP £170 is great, the Pro 260 thermal knickers and thermal socks that were €70 delivered to Spain are equally toasty and I'm even wearing their gloves which I bought locally. My only regret is not getting 2 pairs of knickers but couldn't quite bring myself to take the risk on the sizing lottery. Turns out M fits perfectly whereas in most brands I'm an L or XL.

Yeah, I find fluctuating prices a real brand turn off. Sure, dump excess stock in an outlet section from time to time but I don't always want/need/have the ability to buy when a 'sale' is on and then just point blank refuse to touch the brand at other times. Alpkit do this too.

Do DFS sofas sometime fit your room, yet other times the same sofa randomly become 3 sizes smaller than normal?

I haven't kept my eye on endura kit lately to be honest, my entire riding wardrobe up until about a few years ago was Endura, but I found recently as I wore stuff out and replaced it with the new version the quality was just crap. I still have some padded endura bib shorts from about 10 years ago which I still use, no hurtey arse, good quality. Their newer ones have such thin crappy foam padding it's like riding with no bib shorts on at all.

Bought a full new set 5 years ago or so, singletrack 2 pants, bib shorts, mt500 burner long sleeve top and singletrack 2 waterproof jacket. The pants are thin, the shorts as mentioned above feel like they've no padding, the long sleeve top is so thin it feels I could rip it by hand and the jacket, I walked the dog in it first, and found out it's only waterproof to a point and also feels like wearing a thick bin bag. Don't bother buying their kit anymore now, i think it's crap.

I mostly wear Troy Lee Designs and POC stuff now, just wait till they're in the sales

There are an awful lot of the emails I get that tell me about a sale I mustn't miss. Nearly all bike and outdoor related stuff. Its hard to tell when one sale ends and the next begins but you can bet your house that the minute I do want something everything is full price.

Don't get me started on the random sizes of clothes manufacturers. Reminds me of a trip to Florida with work years ago, I went looking for a pair of jeans and everything had a 50" waist and 30" legs

Via their sales, I've sorta ended up looking like "Endura Man" -my helmet is the only non-Endura bit of kit I wear regularly. I quite like the gear for the cost of it, and I think the poppers that mount the undershorts to the pants are pretty neat.

Waterproofing is a massive letdown though - none of the pants etc are even remotely water-resistant. Tiny beads of spray just blast straight through... fine for summer, not so great for winter.

The hood on my waterproof jacket is crap as well, fits over my helmet no problem but won't stay there at all

Whereas I'm usually very firmly in medium territory and yet the medium Endura soft shell I bought just before xmas feels like a small on me - its pretty tight!

There’s a pile of their shoes on Amazon going cheap. I’d assumed they were fakes…?

It's not just Endura though. I get almost daily emails from a number of shops and manufacturers with some sort of sale or discount.

Never had a problem with Endura - no issues with random sizing - guess I'm just lucky.

I especially like the Hummvee 3/4 shorts, and the helmets are decent too.

I got a pair of the Hummvee flat pedal shoes in the sale at the LBS - way more comfortable than fivetens.

The photochromic glasses that I got in the BF sale are excellent and came with a hard case and 2 other lenses (the cheaper models don't, but mine were still under £40 IIRC)

Did it say 'trousers' on your order confirmation?

Given the discounts available with so many brands, there's very little incentive to pay full price. The bike industry as a whole isn't in a good place so discounting is pretty much the norm for most brands. It's almost more rare to find someone who charges full price than someone discounting

I got a set of them for £15. I've already put a small scratch on the fancy coloured lenses but, better that than my eyeball!

One side is a little bit tough to remove, but it does eventually come out. Just feels like I'm going to snap the little tab off at some point...

Other than that, I like them

It's mostly so those that have bought that hideous Cotic eeb can afford new riding togs.

Got a jacket that works very well...so much better than the original mt-500 jacket as that was a boil-in-the-bag jacket that didn't prove to be waterproof.

Current jacket works very well and I'd happily have another when this finally dies.

Bought some sort of trousers things in the CRC fire sale - fits me round the waist but the trousers appear to be from a MC Hammer music video. They also aren't very waterproof, however, they don't get cold when soaked. Legs need to be less baggy, but that isn't an option (as I'm not paying full price for another pair).

My other endura stuff is about 20 years old and still working...and that is my issue, I don't want to buy full price endura kit now as it isn't made like it used to so likely to not last and not fit.

A shame, as it was awesome kit back then but it doesn't seem to be as good now (based on all the feedback from people).

There is an item I want from there, it's RRP is £200.

It keeps appearing at different prices and different sizes.

I'll keep checking back until it's £100 in my size.

Lol

I've had several pairs over the years - got my first pair from On ya bike on Brum about 12 years ago.

I got the £200 MT500 dungarees (aka cow farmers) for £84 in the November/BF sales and a £175 Singletrack jacket for my Daughter for £62 before Christmas.

It helps I get a discount - even on sale prices, but I've always found their stuff to be decent.

The quality isn't great, the styling isn't great, the sizing is all over the place.

Not a brand I would buy any more, which is sad because I have some older Endura kit (including a 12-year-old pair of Humvee shorts) which I still use regularly.

“Pentland Brands operates a portfolio of brands in a number of categories, and is committed to Endura and the exciting growth plans we have in key markets around the world like the US, UK and Germany.

“We’re also doubling down on mountain biking and gravel – which lie at the heart of the dirt lifestyle we are notorious for.”

Lolz

I’ve heard this before in PE management meetings. Tossers.

They moved production to eastern Europe, and from one factory to several so no consistency in sizing and using cheaper materials means quality will suffer.

Reap the rewards you vultures. As ever it’s the good staff that will suffer…

MT500 Spray trousers have been brilliant from LL for about £63

I got some from Endura just before Xmas for £58. They are good, but I think Fox stuff is better. ie why the hell they only have poppers on the waist is beyond me for a pair of trousers allegedly £140. Also very subtle but the pockets are better positioned on Fox and you cant feel your mobile phone whilst riding. I do find their sizing (certainly on these trousers) is slightly different to others.

Unfortunately I think its an issue across the cycling brand world. in 30 years of riding mtb's I have never paid full price for anything whether thats a bike or clothing, always at minimum 25% off.

Not good.
"According to Pentland, both Endura and outdoor clothing and equipment retailer Berghaus are set to move to a “more streamlined product process, designed to deliver innovative products to market faster and more efficiently”."
So, basically fast fashion then.

Have you seen the size of the Berghaus range? Good lord, who sits there and draws the Venn diagram of outdoor kit variations people need.

The whole market is swamped with too much kit and choice so it's a race to the bottom. One company puts a sale on, everyone else needs to follow suit.

One of the reasons we issue Berghaus uniform at work is they offer real variety of sizes. XL mens with short legs trousers? Yes. Size 8 women's with long leg? Yes.

I do agree though that there is overlap on the actual things they make.

But then Mountain Equipment seems to also offer about 14 different waterproof jackets, each in three colourways...

It's funny though that most brands will offer so many different styles of virtually the same thing but still not offer more sizing options. Being tall and slim, I can't get trousers from many places that will fit me.

Anyway, back to Endura. I got a pair of Hummvee flats for 31 quid delivered in the recent sale. If they’re ever that cheap again I’ll have another couple of pairs, so keep the PSAs coming.
