Are all hollowtech ...

Are all hollowtech 2 road cranks the same?

I've got some FC-CX50 cranks and an RS-500 BB that I bought for it, as it was the one recommended by shimano. However, I cannot seem to get the old chainrings off (which are knackered), rendering it useless.

Would I be able to buy any other HT2 crankset and pair it with the BB, or are there specific crank and BB combos?

TIA.

All road cranks will work with all road BBs

Why can't you get the rings off.
With the right tools it's a doddle.
With the wrong tools, it only takes 5 minutes.

Bolts seem to be completely seized, won't budge even after wd40. I'll try the LBS before buying anything else.

All Shimano HT2 road cranks will be fine with all Shimano HT2 road BBs.

To be fair if the chainrings are knackered and you're replacing them seperately anyway it probably the same cost as a new chainset anyway.

Drill them out - very quick.

Or a longer hex key, with a nice accurately made end... (plus the key to go on the back of course!)

Another vote for drill them out, not even like you need to worry about any damage to chairing. Also another vote for just buying a complete chainset as two rings purchased separately will likely cost more (if they are Shimano rings)
