looking at a specialized pitch and cannondale prophet. Both similar specs and prices (£1000-£1100).

Anywhere have either of these to demo for free? Preferably nearby to some decent riding.

Seems silly that i can test drive as many £10,000 (if i was looking for a one anyway) cars as i like for no cost, but would end up paying 5% of the bikes value every tiem i want to test one?#

Dont mind waiting for a demo day if anyone knows of one going on.

You could test a pitch at the spesh concept store in chester, which is pretty near llandegla - but they wanted me to put the entire cost of the bike on a credit card before testing! Think there was a charge of something like 30 quid too, which they would refund if you bought it.

Most places have some kind of charge to stop you doing it as a free hire kind of thing.

I tested an Enduro instead from biketreks in Ambleside - they did charge 20 quid me but I got it back when I bought the bike, and didn't have to leave a ridiculous deposit.

Look at the road shows that MBUK/WMTB are doing I think both Cannondale and Spesh are there.

They've not announced all of them yet, but this might help:

if you're serious about buying and not after a free ride, then just find a shop that stocks them both... every shop i know that charges for the day will refund against bike purchase.

bikeradar have announced it, e-mail came in this morning, no spesh or cannondale 🙁

IIRC one of the 24hour races has a demo day attatched to it?

will go looking for a spesh & cannondale dealer.

can't blame them too many people take the piss and demo the bike from a LBS then buy online leaving the shop with a demo bike to sell off at the end of the year, and no sale.

Spesh do their own demo days along with Giant. Do a search on Specialized dirt demo day and you should find it.
