Hi Guys,
Following on from the post about the Avid Homebrew Bleed kit, I was thinking we could do the same thing for homebrew or gheto tubeless kits. I've been running a ghetto tubeless setup for 2 years now with no issues or punctures using my own latex based concoction for sealant. I seen the cost of the stans kit which is silly expensive. Hopefully if enough folk are up for it I might be able to do it cheaper if I can get a deal on a job lot of tubes....
If anyones fancies it I could supply the following kit and instructions (maybe even a video instruction if required. dont worry i have a mexican wrestling mask to conceal my face and ginger hair)for roughly £15 posted(as long as the postage cost isnt overly high)would only make a couple of quid each kit for my time.
I could sell you some sealant seperatley as well
kit
2 x 20" inner tubes, pre cut into rim strips(ish)just need trimmed after tyre is seated.
and 500ml of my sealant mix* ( should be enough for two tyres and a few top ups or four tyres
* will put in glitter of your choice of colour to match the bike -looks pretty and sparkly on your wheel if you manage to roll a tyre. (not sure if the glitter does much decent size punctures do seal with it so...
pro's/cons
The sealant will last for about two to three months.
It's latex based so when it dries it will stick to the inside of your tyre but will peel off.
The tubes/rim strips could potentially be re-used depending how you want to fit them but i would suggest using new ones.
Unless your lucky i would suggest you would require access to a compressor or co2 cartridges.
I would also suggest maxxis tyres or tyres with an all black/rubber sidewall.
Anyone fancy it?
