I have the conti 120 26" tyres - so not quite the same but my experience might help. On ice - fantastic. Allows you to steer and brake even on black ice. On snow or slush no huge difference to any knobbly I think.

I have mine on my commuter for the rest of the icy period. Make af unny noise of tarmac

Yep, rode into work on them this morning and had them fitted for a bit at last year's strathpuffer on my 29er.

They work well on ice - you still can't hoon around like it's the middle of summer, but you do stand much more chance of emerging from corners upright if you take it steady

They do drag terribly on tarmac (and make a racket), but then that's only to be expected.

In fresh snow they're probably no better than any other knobbly tyre, but they're not awful until it gets deep enough to warrant a biiig wiiide tyre

I've found mine to be very capable. I'm using them on my RoadRat and they're fine on ice and snow up to about 15-20cm. Unconsolidated slush seems to be their only nemesis.

(see here and here for my comments).

Madison have stock so you should be able to get some easily enough from your LBS. I'd love some but I think they're a bit wide for my cross bike. They're also bonkers expensive, even at trade price ๐Ÿ™
