Looking at the 20E or 35, both say you can use it with a HRM strap, would a generic HRM strap work does anyone know?

I've got the Rider 50. I wish I'd got a Garmin. My wife's Polar HRM strap doesn't work with it.
That is only one small reason why I wish I had bought a Garmin.

What do you mean by generic?

They're ANT+, so a Garmin, CycleOps, Bryton etc strap will work, Polar won't as they use their own coding.

I have a 50 its the only gps I have ever used and it seems pretty decent. The reaction times when you press a button is a bit slow and its a bitch to mount on my stem and looks odd on the bars. Other than that I quite like it.

Not used HR monitors on it as I don't care that much.

It's a good thing that the incompatibility of other HRM straps is only a minor reason why I wish I'd have saved a few more quid and bought a Garmin.
I find the Bryton slow, over complicated and the web based usage annoying.
It's all a bit....Beta (yes, I know because it actually is Beta)
