Looks like a pretty good arrangement for cycle touring in France, especially if living in the north of England which makes the ferry to northern France more of a hassle. Keen to hear any stories, good or bad. Bit pricey at £250 return, but hoping it's worth it by saving the trouble of having to box up the bike or use public transport, and getting picked up and dropped off almost at my front door.

Cheers!

We used it last year and were quite impressed with the service. We got on in Nottingham and went all the way to Rosas in Spain which was a long haul but its pretty much hassle free and certainly less trouble than flying with bike and touring kit.

The only worrying thing was the thought that the courier could take a heart attack at any moment. A lovely guy but not the healthiest looking individual!

We used it for a road bike trip this year and it worked well. Definitely stress free compared to the alternatives. I do find it difficult to sleep on coaches/trains etc so I found it a bit tiring but my mate did the full snoring and drooling thing all the way!

I have been wondering wether a service like this specifically aimed at mountainbikers would be viable.

@jasperb The bike express bus operates as a ski bus to Morzine in the winter. If it works for skiing then why not for biking?
