Just reminiscing really.

I loved those tyres. Cheap too.

Unfortunately I've fallen for the Maxxis Kool Aid and therefore spend more on bike tyres than car tyres now.

I should add I don't own a fast car with expensive tyres....but still.....

Still on the front of my tandem. Probably a bit worn and perished, don't look forward to searching for a suitable replacement...

They are good tyres. For ages Halfords had them for £20 each. Sadly not tubeless though. Conti missed a trick there.

They weren't re-christened to Conti Horizontals without good reason!

I *think* I may have one on the back at the mo. Were they the ones with spiderwebs on the carcass?

Have a Conti Diesel on the front too.

I had USTs and Protections: both set-up tubeless.

Webs on the carcass and a never ending mission to land you on your face when you were least expecting it.

Named I thought, since you can to keep them vertical because they only worked in that plane.

They therefore polarised opinion between folk that leaned their bikes hard and hated them, and those that were perhaps a bit more XC focussed and couldn't see the problem, resulting in befuddlement from the others point of view.

Terrible on the front, but great on the back IME.
