Hi. New to the forum and looking for some advice. I'm aiming to do some long distance riding/events this year on the MTB - South Downs Way, a 12 hour race and some others. My current MTB is a 140mm trail bike that is great for thrashing downhill but i don't enjoy riding it on longer faster rides. So I'm after a reasonable cheap XC style MTB (up to a £1,000) for the longer stuff. I've seen some 2016 Cube Reaction HPAs on sale for under 1k but can't find much in the way of reviews. Does anyone have some practical experience of these that they could offer?
Or can anyone offer suitable alternatives?
Cheers
I looked at it and ended up buying the acid 29er 2016.
I couldnt justify the difference in cost between the 2. I think they might share the same frame.
Droppers are tricky to find as the frames only support 27.2mm posts but i fitted an xfusion hilo which seems good so far.
The bike is much much shorter than what im used to for the size however i think this helps me ride it better... its so chuckable and fun to ride! Love it! Im finally able to flick the back end on sharp corners and lift the front going over drops.
Naturally being a hardtail its a good climber.
Ive upgraded the rims (i got 2 wtb i19s on offer for £50), tyres (which i already had) and added a dropper but i doubt ill do anymore now. Looking at the spec you shouldnt need to upgrade your tyres or wheels if you buy a reaction
What is your current trail bike?
