Evening all,

I fancy building a frame and fork combo for a laugh, nothing that will be built to be abused, just something that won't fall to pieces if I ride it down the road to the pub and back. Something of a conversation starter..

Besides bamboo which isn't readily available, could anyone advise me on a sensible choice of material? I plan on butchering an old frame and bonding the BB into the frame and pretty much the same with a seat post.

Will project log this when I start too ๐Ÿ™‚

Nice, they look pretty fancy. I'm going to be going for more of an industrial look.

There's a chap in Ireland building wooden bikes; the company is called Woodelo. Pretty pricey frames!

I think he uses Ash.

That's fantastic, exactly the sort of inspiration I needed.

Wife went out last night, I stayed in making some drawings. builders merchant opens at 10am this morning, so off out.

Going to build a soft wood prototype first then refine it and make it from Ash.

Will get photos later and start a log.

Thanks guys.

Paul

Not quite a Renovo, but I sketched this up for one of my woodworking students a while back. We didn't have time to make forks / wheels, and it's pretty heavy, but as a town bike it's fine.
