Got a Corima rear aero disk
Fitted it to my bike.
Seemed a fair bit of play.
Turned the cones to take up the play as you would with a cup and cone hub- leave a little play in and tightened the qr.
Rode off and had no freewheel.
So backed it off gradually till I had freewheel -and it aS back where I started.
Checked the diagrams online and stripped the hub -everythibg as per the diagram.
It feels like when you have a hope hub and get the two spacers back to front. Long term fix will be to machine up a spacer for between freehub bearing and the inner wheel bearing but just wondered if anyone had experienced the same.
Turned out to be a non issue.
Rode off to the sign on this morning and found that the tire bead wouldn't stay in the rim.
Knew I had always run tubs on my TT bike for a reason.
That sucks. Had corima tubs and they put up with loads of abuse until the front hub split in two after hitting a pothole. The rear hub looked familiar, like I'd had one on another wheelset but never pinned it down. Zero probs with the freehub, in fact it is sorely missed since I replaced the wheels with CCUs!
There seem to be several models of freehub on Corima wheels. I had one with a bush between axle and pawls which kept dragging. It turned out there was a small crack in the body. Fortunately I'm only 5 miles from the importer, Yellow, in Stone so I arranged to visit them and they sold me a new one.
I also had a front hub fail the resin ring that holds the spokes into the flange cracked. 4 spokes on one side just fell off. Fortunately I was just setting off so no injuries. Replaced with a Hope as when I called Yellow the response was " yes, they do that" An 18 spoke wheel and a 15 stone rider is not a great combo.
