There are a few spots on the coastal path, some of them are quite popular and you need to get there early(ish). Some of the beaches within the army ranges are worth looking at too.

Dancing Ledge is a top spot for a bivi / fire, not that you can ride there legally, and the waves could be a problem if using the open cave on the lower tier. Whinspit's good, if a bit popular. Seem to remember spending nights in the caves close to Durdle Door, although thats a bit W of Purbeck. Think I'd probably go for any spot in the fields above purbeck proper, provided its not too swampy and the cows are elsewhere.

I've done it once or twice ๐Ÿ˜‰ I may have been up by nine barrow down recently and possibly by old harry. But if you turn up late and leave early on any of the ridges or beaches I think you'll be fine.

Over Xmass I did the routine walk of Studland to Swanage with my parents starting at about 10:00 am, this was not very busy then but by 13:00 on the way back it was heaving. Have walked along other parts of the costal path around this area too many times. I think if it's not a bank holiday cycling before 09:00 you will meet very few if any people on the coastal path especially if you are on the further west part towards Kimmeridge and further on maybe the odd dog walker. Do your coastal path riding post 19:00 and pre 09:00 and you should be ok, gets VERY busy later though.

No not on a campsite I want to give the new Bivi Bag a try and having never done it, its going to be my first time... ๐Ÿ˜ณ Ridden that way a heap of times so thought that would be better to go somewhere I knew. I was thinking a late afternoon ride followed by a square and compass visit and then ride with the light to a Bivi spot that way should miss all the walkers and can get going again before they arrive..

You can easily ride from the S&C to Windspit. There are plenty of options down on Windspit but as stated above, it can be busy. There has been a few raves at Windspit in the past!! There are some better spots about 1 mile or so east of Windspit but might require a bit of cheekyness.

From the title I thought this thread was going to be very different.
