Hoping someone can help. Got a RocketMAX customer who has a Lyrik Ultimate in red, and wants to go for matching Hope red bits, but it unsure whether the Hope will match the Rockshox red well enough. We haven't had any Lyriks through in red, so we don't know either. Anyone running red Hope with red Rockshox who can post up a pic please?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Cy @ Cotic
In 6 months the red hope bits won't even match each other...
I can't help at all, other than say that I don't think trying to match painted colours to anodised colours. It never ends well.
Bright glossy red with fading-to-pink anodising sounds like an awful idea.
There are a few pictures of red Lyriks with red hope hubs / red brakes on the Bird owners Facebook page - imo it looks awful. The red Lyriks need black hubs / darker coloured brakes....
I can see the red looking great with a RocketMax in gloss metal, similar to the Pole. But less is more with colour. Keep the rest black.

Had red Hope hubs a few years ago and, as already said above, they weren't red for very long, defo not gonna match a Lyrik even when both are brand new. I stick with boring old black Hope bits these days, they are still black and look the part on any colour frame/bike
Cy, are you asking on here so it doesn't have to be you that tells the customer it'll look shit?
Thanks for the feedback folks.

Came here to say this.
If hope are so bad at losing there colour has anyone requested a replacement or solution from hope?
Is it just the red that fades?
I've got black stuff that's so old you can see some evidence of fading.
I imagine it's something to do with how aggressive or dangerous a process you can use in the UK. It could be anodised better but you'll have to send bits to China.
Rocketmax with red lyriks works but like others have said, avoid the red headset!
