For £150 fitted, they seem good value.. DC rainmaker has a small review..not long term though.

Just wondering if anyone here has one and can give feedback?
I’m looking at fitting something to my ultegra crank on my tripster atr, but the clearance isn’t enough for a 4iii our stages...

Hmm

I've been watching them. Waiting for a long term review to come out.

I remember last year looking at them however I read some not particularly favourable reviews. That may have been of earlier versions buy put me off at time

You are firmly into the get-what-you pay for category of stuff. Quarq and the likes ...according to Mrs Yak who does proper training stuff.
The beta(ish) avio didn't work in the cold and dropped out a lot. Maybe they have sorted it now though as this was a long time ago.

I got one fitted to an existing SLX crank after I drowned another Stages one. It is very much in the same camp / design / responsiveness as the stages it replaced. Readings are as expected.

I use it in all types of filthy weather off road. Once it gets proper wet I tend to remove the battery cover and let it breath - in case any water / damp. That's something I learned from owning a Stages.

Anyway the Avio has being going strong for nearly a year now. There is a 2 year no quibble warranty and a UK company so it seemed worth a punt for me.

Just get a 4iiii one - they're reliable and cheap. I've picked up two for 170 quid each (105 cranks).

A mate had one, according to the numbers he would have broken the hour record in 30 minutes so it went back.

Looks interesting. Was looking for a power meter for my GX Eagle GXP 165mm cranks.

This is the only one that looks compatible, with a website that makes sense, at a reasonable cost. Price is low enough I’m willing to take a gamble with 2yr guarantee. If I’m left without power meter for a week or so while they fix it’s all good.

Will report after a few weeks, then after hammering through winter mud!

Quarq are £500 with no comparability with my cranks. Looks like good choice otherwise.

So I had a good call with one of the chaps there to discuss about clearance...
He's going to send me out a dummy unit to hold against my crank!!

Bought one when a PSA came up on here a couple of years back.
Just out of warranty now. Been back twice for repair/update and returned fixed really quickly.
When working its great, better than my spare bike`s stages but crank arm based units are very susceptible to wet weather issues. As said above battery out and airing cupboard after rainy rides or back it goes for another fix.
Service from Avio has been excellent.
Would I buy another? prob not if I could afford a quark. But if I only had £150 quid..think of it as renting one across 3 years for £50 each year and it probably sounds ok.

That was my idea! A couple of years ago when they were first getting going and my mate got his faulty pair I was chatting to the Avio guys and said this was what they needed - they said they'd look into it and probably get something 3d printed.

I went through a couple before giving up and buying a 4iiii. Haven’t looked back since

The guys at avio seem decent enough and to be fair they gave me a full refund when I’d eventually had enough but it was to inaccurate and unreliable to be worth purchasing at anything other than a bargain price.

Later versions may be better, but the lack of a review from gplama, or dcrainmaker speaks volumes for me, it’s been out a good while and neither of them deem it worthy of their time.

I’ve also had to go through all my training rides and delete any that were recorded using an avio as it completely skews all my PRs
