Is it any good?
- how waterproof is it?
- is it long enough at the back? (looks like there is no drop tail)
Cheers
my gore jacket has just about died after 11 years so i'm after another one as its the best fitting jacket i've ever had. only problem i have with them is the shower proof ones lead me to believe that once you wash them you have to reproof them.
it may sound silly but doesn't that mean that water stops them from being waterproof?

I got a Gore Cosmo jacket about two years ago - different model from the one on the TGstore site now.
It's black with a red zip. Also came in yellow with black shoulders. It's an absolute cracker. Totally waterproof Goretex and looks quite good off bike too. I use it all the time.
It has a very sizeable drop tail which has a kind of popper system to roll it away when not needed. Don't know if the current Cosmo is the same but I would expect so.
Although it's two years old it still looks like it's brand new - typical Gore quality - will last forever. I like it a lot.
I'm almost embarrassed to admit it but I also own the "windstopper" Cosmo (the camo one) and I think this is like the one on the Gore site

- it came in Black too. It doesn't have much of a drop tail and although not technically waterproof like goretex would protect you pretty well in everything but an absolute downpour. It is very warm though.
What can I say - I just like Gore stuff!
Thanks Quinn, i'm actually referring to the windstopper version, i should have included that in the title...
Yup - ok - It's a really nice jacket. I've used it in the rain a few times and never felt wet in the "jacket area". As I say, it's very warm.
I've got the Camo version of the Cosmo Plus, after much umming and aahing...
No drop tail, but very very cosy and some nice features - stitched-in "gloves", lots of pockets, large reflective areas, nice fleeced collar. The single shoulder/arm pocket on the right does let a draft in thought!!
STW mag did a softshell grouptest (Last XMAS?) so you can find some good info there.
I do prefer the "purer" bike-specific technicality and features of my Endura Stealth - Dropped back, rubber "grippy" waistline, split pit-zips for use with backpack, zipped wrist on sleeves, large rear pocket etc but find I reach for the Cosmo far more often, and its quite often what I wear on a casual basis too, as it has a very comforatble fit.
High-end waterproof jacket group test (inc. the Gore Cosmo) in the October issue of Singletrack Magazine FYI ๐
Not got the Cosmo but can highly recommend the Gore Alp X II which I have, slightly more fitted shape mind but a fantastic shell 8)
I've got the Camo one too. Its pretty good. I found the stitched in gloves to be pants though so I cut them out; they block using a watch or if you tuck them in its bulky round your wrist and the jacket awkward to get on/off. They also take a lot longer to dry out than the rest of the jacket, it's almost bone dry after a spin cycle.
Not used mine for a few months now and was considering selling it.
