[Closed] Anyone got a cup 'n' cone lock ring laying around? (Pic)....

You know how it is, helping a neighbour get a 90's bike he's been given ready for a bit of use.

Needed to adjust a small bit of play out of the BB.... Don't have the correct tool anymore, use a rubber mallet/ screw driver on one of the lock ring notches.... Snap. Break the lock ring... Sods law it's always when trying to sort out someone else's bike.lol

Anyone got one I could buy/donate some money to a charity for.... Or know where I can get them without the rest of the BB?

Ebay or SJS Cycles will usually have stuff like that if you're struggling.

Are they a genuine (single) "standard" fit ?

I think I've got one somewhere but it'll be 30+ years old - will have a look

I'd suggest a trip to the LBS with biscuits and a smile would probably locate one of those in their spares box. Most BSOs still come with that sort of BB.

There are a couple of BSOs dumped in our cycle shed. I'll have a look at lunchtime, see if there's one to rescue.

If you choose to replace the cup and cone BB with something sealed. You need to measure the frames BB wheel width and the over all length of the axle without the cranks on.
Cant help with a lock ring sorry
