Thinking of trying a conversion kit - anyone do it and was it easyish/worth it?
TIA
Yes, I used a Stans kit and it took me a whole day to do one wheel! I was using Maxxis Minion DHF 2.35 tyres. The trick I worked out after lots of searching was to use some padded tape to raise under the rim strip to lift the strip up enough to seal against the tyre's bead.
Yes, used a Stans kit and have fitted Maxxis Advantages and Medusas without any problem. Can't seat them using a track pump can only do it using a compressor.
I've had Nobby Nics and Racing Ralphs on some Crossrides with the Joe's NoFlats rim strips. Can be a bit fiddly to inflate, but not too bad if the tyres has been installed with a tube for a while before hand.
Once inflated they sealed well for a good number of months.
Went tubeless on crossride just using the stans wide sealing tape tubeless valves and tubeless tyres, need a compressor to seat though.
