Planning on doing a ride tomorrow (Fri) but my riding buddy has to work. Was planning on doing this route Walna Scar but if you can suggest a better route that includes plenty of good descending i can be flexible. I am reasonably fit and but take my time going uphill so i can enjoy the downs! Weather looks to be good in the west tomorrow hence my descision to head to the Lakes.

Looks decent, although you're saving a big climb until towards the end of the ride:

(Same route, but with OS maps goodness and elevation detail)

I'd be tempted to ride it around in the counter-clockwise direction for the descent down to Seathwaite. Climbing up to Walna Scar past Tranearth from Torver is an achievable challenge.

I've done this ride, there's plenty of climbing and I have to say for not that great a reward. I had this ride in mind for ages and thought it would be fantastic but I will never do it again, the climb is just not worth it. The descent is okay and pretty technical at the top but there's much better descents for much much less climbing, it's just not worth it. The 'singletrack' through the woods is less than half a mile & the road climb to the woods from torver starts at something like 25% and just goes on and on and on.

If you're in that area iiwy I'd find a decent route around Grizedale.
