Anyone fancy a big ...

[Closed] Anyone fancy a big (like, 150 miles big, whoah!!) South Coast road ride in July?

Given the Asthma UK beach to beach isn't running this year ("boo.."), and the fact that the route is such a lovely one, I wondered if there'd be takers for a long Southern roadie get together.

The route would pretty much follow the B2B route (Bournemouth to Brighton), covers about 150 miles, and would take a few hours ( ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) to complete I imagine...

There's unlikely to be en route support, but it passes plenty of urban areas/taps/pubs.

I'm thinking..head of reet early, in order to catch the beauty of the [cough]New Forest[/cough, avoid NIMBYs], which should get us into Brighton for tea time, where we could pig out in a pizza place or something.

Train station start and finish, so would suit poor people who can't hear the sea from their butler's butler's garden....

I've penciled in July 13th (sat).

Anyone interested???

Just to redress the NIMBY balance, you can all stop at mine in the New Forest for a cheeky cider on the way through ๐Ÿ˜€

If I am in the country I could well be up for something like that. The "reet early" train from here (Brighton) doesnt get to Bournemouth till after 8 though...

DrP - drop me an email and I'll forward it to the LVIS squad - sounds like just the sort of thing a few would be interested in.

150 miles won't be a race... prob 13-15mph average I'd imagine..

Very tempted. I'd have to take the day off work though.
I live just down the road from 40mpg and Ciderinsport but you'll only find proper beer in my house.

DrP. Are you aware that the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Night Ride is that weekend? That was bl00dy good fun last year, just over far too quickly. The following weekend is the Dunwich Dynamo which I'm hoping to ride.

Oooh - I wasn't, but good to know.

Hmm...

I'll prob stick to the 13th for the big ride, and of course people can join either or.. (or..both..?)

Another big fancy of mine was to to the BHF L2B route in reverse, and then return to Brighton via the off-road BHF route!!!
All in about 120 miles - would need CX tyres though!

I'm interested in this, looking to do some lengthy rides and it's on my doorstep.

PS DrP - it's Josh that sometimes rides on a Tuesday evening.
