Ordered some mavic furys from crc but only had them in a 10 (my current northwaves are a 43) so thought I'd try them and send back if too big. The thing is I can't make up my mind, they seem a better width than the NW but heel can still lift out the back (does this in my NW too) and dead space at the toe suggests a smaller size would be better. Problem is that no-one stocks the damn things to try. Think I might order some sidis in a 44 (which seemed a good fit when tried in a shop recently) and compare them. First world problem I know ๐Ÿ™‚

I really struggle to judge if shoes fit until I use them in anger. Endless

I struggle with this, not just cycling shoes either. Seems I need to wear them for an extended period just to decide. Gets expensive after a while!

yeah i recently bought some nice smart shoes and found they were too big after wearing for a few days (built on a wider last it turns out) several insoles later they aren't too bad but not ideal. Gutted.

I do too - I now am mr_boring shoe choice - as I know I fit...so all outdoor shoes are now Salomon or Mammut(Raichle) and biky shoes for the last few years are all Diadora....

Yes. I also shoe shop so infrequently because of this that it seems every has changed the last since the previous pair. I do have very wonky feet though. Never mind shoes, I'm on my third podiatrist.
