Mine seemed slow to return yesterday but I put it down to a sticky cable. Bike has been in all nightfall warm so all unfrozen now. It is only returning to half height ๐ any suggestions?
I wouldn't be too surprised if it turned out to be stiction due to cold weather. I don't suppose they make a neoprene sleeve for them do they?
My Joplin 4 has been fine today round the Altura Trail at Whinlatter
twas cold too
was -11 yesterday though
In that case my suggestion is....stay home ๐
Is the pressure ok? Might just need a top up
why would it lose pressure? any ideas? i suppose the seals may shrink in extreme cold??
cold temp - volume will decrease and so will the pressure to overcome stiction (like car tyres)? BTW its the same as the pneumatic piston which helps you open the car boot lid - much slower in the winter/cold temperatures?
Yes, mine wouldn't come back up by itself during the last cold spell. When it warmed up it 'fixed itself'.
Just taken it apart for a clean and inspection. Put the shock pump on - no air. So pumped up to 50psi as per instructions for a joplin 4 and opened/closed valve to balance. Took pump off and Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiss. Air cam out of the valve. Swapped for a new valve core and it seems fine.
This is the second thong that has required anew valve core after fixing the shock pump to it - weird!! Other things have been fine - bad luck or new pump required??
You can get neoprene boots if you get a pair of shock boots for forks and use one of those. That's what Mr MC has done.
