I've got a new Chris King BB (fancy). The only concern is it's soooo tight to get on.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Tight threads or tight interface with the cranks?

I've got issues with my Hope BB and FSA cranks - the crank axle is ridiculously difficult to get through the bearings and getting them out again involves inscrewing the BB first.

I've had the threads cleaned by the LBS. They tried a Shimano one to check and it fitted fine.
The one that came out was a king too. It's been in there for 2 years and needed a scaffold bar on the wrench to get that one out. It was greased when originally fitted too.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experiences of King BB's been notoriously tight threaded to fit?

Sounds as if it's machined to the top end of tolarance, or the threads have been cut out of pitch ?
cheap rubbish stuff!
Only kidding, can u get it measured up and get a thread gauge on it to check?

My mate at my LBS said the same thing about the tolerances.

I'll see if I can get a thread guage.

Cheers
