I am and its safe to say I'm also quite excited about it ๐Ÿ˜€

Last (and first) attempt at a solo 24 was mayhem in 2006, which went horrendously wrong and I was fit then. Should be interesting this time round if nothing else.

Looks like an ace setup on a great trail for people wanting to solo.

Quite supprised at how few entries there are at the moment.

Anyone else entering?

Nathan

Yeah, I am. It should be an interesting event, with only soloists on the course it'll be more head to head and there won't be anywhere to hide. The good thing about that is that there won't be as many folk on the trail and you should be able to get into a decent rhythmn.

I can see the top guys all going off like stink and trying to break each other. Can't wait!

I've entered, but I don't show up on the 'who's entered' section on the xcracer website.
Emailed the organisers but no response...

Yup, have entered. Have stood, agasp, looking at the sheer number of 'heavyweight contenders' and, having ridden round Newcastleton a couple of times now, have realised that the course could very easily turn the event into a full on epic!

It will be fast and it will get very, very hard

be interested to hear the response Rich if you dont mind sticking it on here. Me and few mates are entered and our 'support' is not happy at the prospect of sitting in a muddy field all night, be good to hear if there is going to be a big marque (ala Solo at SITS) or other things like that to keep them all out the cold and not by themselves.

Good to hear

I havent entered yet, will do on sat when ive got money in my account.

I know they can sometimes be a bit slow on updating the entry sheet so no need to worry i recon. Hopefully that means more are in the same position meaning that the size of the field may be respectable.

Not that its currently lacking in ability as you say dave. Page, leitch, white, leavesly, ibbett, rothwell, heading, hitchens and of course your good self. I fully expect to be lapped in 2hrs. Good times ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, but training way off schedule.
Off this week with a horrendous sore throat (again) which is usually a precursor to a dreadful cold / man-flu.
That's about 5-6 weeks off the bike in 2010 - not clever.

I'm happy to try for as many laps as I can even if I'll be the slowest of the riders booked in to ride. Not that worried TBH, but would like to put in as many hours as I physically can manage as I'm a 24 solo virgin (at 45yrs).

I'm hoping to ride the Gorrick's 70 miler on Sunday as an indicator of how I am doing.

What Rich said. Except I have no support and would like my van (and tools, spares, other bike, food etc) to be quite close at hand.
