I think I may have been over doing it recently...

Almost fainted a few times while on the hill on Sunday. Strange thing is that I didn't feel particularly tired on the day and there was plenty of strength in my legs but I had these very strong dizzy spells. I didn't go unconscious and quickly learned to stop and rest when they came on and was okay after a minute or so.

I'd say that I was fairly fit but I've upped my exercise a bit in the past three weeks and had felt a bit run down after the previous weekend - actually, I was completely knackered for about three days but I took things relatively easy (I ride my bike everyday round town to get between work engagements).

I have seen a doctor this morning - not quite sure of anything yet - nothing irregular or bad flagged up.

Anyone else had dizziness?

Light headed yes, dizzy no. Normally comes on when I've had to much sugar (body transitioning from burning sugar to burning other fuel I think), or when I've not eaten enough.

Ask your doctor to do an ECG (electro cardiogram). Then get him to have it checked by a cardiologist. Better, get a referral to a cardiologist directly.

There are heart irregularities that can cause you to black out*.

Hope you get it resolved.

*And worse - see Fabrice Muamba.

ECG was done yesterday. GP thought it looked okay but there was something that she said could be fine... or might need be investigated. So, it will be investigated.

I know I should probably be taking it easy but I'm away to Kinlochleven tomorrow morning...

It may just be slight dehydration causing a lower-than-normal blood pressure. Had you drunk plenty before and during the ride, did you feel thirsty at all? Especially if you've recently upped the amount of exercise you do (which can lower your blood pressure). Hope the `investigation' of your ECG comes back normal.
