Thinking of doing the 100Km. have one one 100Km ride (south downs randonee some years ago) but recently 65-75Km rides inc exmoor explorer long route etc. Was wondering how arduous the ride is in comparison - I have also done some 100km road rides including the Dartmoor devil last year (++++ climbing). What were peoples times so I can get a handle on the difficulty - not worries about technical aspects (until I get tired ๐ )
Last time it was run (2007 I think and from Cannington near Bridgater, not Porlock) I did the 60 mile course (there was also an 80 mile one) without too much training and without too much bother. Mates suffered with cramp though. From what you have said I'm sure you'll be fine.
Cheers Clink - Sounds good to me
its a different route to previous years, with less road & more technical trails this year, starting & ending in Porlock.
its a looong distance for exmoor but sounds like you are ready for it.
Great place to ride & will be a great challenge to attempt/do.
Good luck.
Currently planning to do the 75. I'd love to attempt the 100 but it's prob a bit too much for me knowing how hilly Exmoor is, esp if more off-road content than usual.
Damn - got to to to a wedding that weekend - my wife reminded me - Oh well - I shell try it next year 2010 if its on that year - gte a few more rides under my belt and can think about a bit of training / panning ๐ Cheers for all the comments guys - Damn ๐
