I'm popping my cherry at the end of March with a 200. Then I have loose plans for one at the end of each month. So as long as the wheels don't fall off I'll get an SR this year.
I'm basing mine around South central England.
me when i get my reboot.
spring into the dales 100k in april
brimham rocks 200k in september
I'll be doing the world famous Las Vegas Institute of Sport Audax 🙂

Yip, hope to qualify for P.B.P. (although the longest ride this year is 60 miles so better get my arse in gear!).
i shall also be doing the LVIS audax, looking forward to the cake at Hill already (although might be a bit too soon into the 200km route to have two slices like last year...).
Also did the Jack Cotton memorial at the end of Jan.
In January i did 2 x 100km, and 1 x 200km
Missed out on the Chippenham Flapjack the other week through ilness, had been in bed for four days up til the Friday and somehow thought i could do 100km on the Sunday, only made 82km and bombed big style!
Got a 200km near Reading booked at the end of Feb, Im going to try for the 'Year round randonneur' when you have to do a 200km ride each month for 12 consecutive months.
Oldgit, which longer ones are you planning for your SR? as you need to do a 200km,300km,400km and 600km in the same Audax year.
Loose plan is Stevenage 200 end of March.
Cambridge 300 April
I think There's an Oxford 400
And possibly the Chalfont 600, as I know the route out pretty well. So hopefully it'll help with a good start and be useful on the return?
I've been riding 100K+ every Sunday since Boxing Day, and a 200K last week in the storms
Did the cheadle 155 on the 23/1, and should be doing the hathersage Roaches Revenge in March. Working two out of three weekends, means I generally do one every 2-3 months. There is the odd midweek event, but depends on the location, I have got my eye on the solstice ride from stockport on some friday in april. I'm not really a social type, but I am lazy and rather enjoy the fact someone has sorted a nice distance ride that cover bits I might not normally ride. Some of our family camping hols also oddly seem to be in places where audax events take place near by.
oldgit, as an option on the 300k Corinium CC do an event which is on Easter weekend.
Starts at Cirencester and goes out to Daventry and back (roughly speaking), i did it in 2009, its a nice ride.
If you contact the organiser there is chance to sleep in the hall at the start (6.00am start) which can save on travel time/rest before the event?
Was thinking it may be closer to your geographical area?
I've got a 200 and 300 in the diary before my marathon. I'll not do any more until I've done the marathon but if I enjoy them there's a local 400 and 600 too...would be cool to waulify for the PBP.
Anyone here done it? I was thinking "long weekend in Paris = expensive" but you won't need accomodation for 3 nights 😀
I'm doing Roaches Revenge in March too Boatman.
Has anyone ever done London-Edinburgh-London? I'm after a copy of the route if you have...
How long does 600km take. Sounds a bit mental, or do you get off your bike occasionally?
Presubably 600k is split over 2 300k days?
AFAIK it's up to you how/when you stop - the fastest will not stop much at all, even on the PBP (A mate has done it a couple of times).
But you are timed to do it without any stops IYKWIM.
Many ride a 400 then have a short rest before tackling the final 200k.
finbar, the last LEL route is on the AUK website: http://www.aukweb.net/el/index.htm
I did prev 3, all good, didn't do the last one, seemed much higher profile organisation & entry - I prefer the more low key DIY events.
Now retired from 'real' audaxing and these days just do the Elenith, which I thoroughly recommend as well organised ride & great route. Hard but fair.
Other recommended longer rides are the Bryan Chapman, Brevet Cymru. And if you ever get a chance to do it, the Daylight.
Thanks SimonT, i'm not planning on entering LEL but i am hoping to ride up to St Andrews from Sheffield at some point this year, and i thought that might be a good route to use.
I did my first one on Sunday - 106km (or 110km for me as i got lost) I liked it and am planning to do more. I was expecting it to be more socialable/relaxed than it was - it seemed much more of a race atmosphere than sportives, my pal and i were on the front of a group for ages with no-one coming through to take a turn at the front, a few didn't give directions/were pretty unhelpful, and the pace was much faster than i expected too.
In hindsight, taking time to put all the points on the garmin would have been a much better move.

there's a big municipal campsite near the start where the majority of British riders base themselves, and that's cheap. There's also a popular Audaxers' hotel nearby, The Pavillion Bleu, or something, where I stayed before the event and that was around £15 a night (back in 1999!). I stayed in the campsite after the event as my bankcard stopped working in French cashpoints and I had less than a tenner to eat, get drunk, and fuel my ride back to Dieppe after the event.
Lots of PBP logistical info here...

Yes I will be doing my first Audax at some point this year. Looking to do a few of the local 100 and 200Ks.
