Hi,
I'm looking at getting an on one inbred frame and I'm stuck between a 14 and 16 and wondered what other people of a similar height ride or would recommend?
I'm 5'5.5", inside leg 31.5". Would be mainly using it for longer, slightly off road rides. The top tube of the 14 seems about right for me, the 16 a bit long. Would there be any downside to getting the smaller one, would the seat tube stick out too much?
Any advice appreciated, its all quite new to me
Cheers
i am 30" leg and run a 16" bike feels fine
I'm 5'5" with long legs and have had at various times a 14" Inbred and a 16" 456. Neither fitted due to the long top tube.
Found that a 16" Soul was far better.
Edit: to be honest your best bet is to ask on here if anyone is near you and would they mind you sitting on it.
I've made far too many mistakes with frames that don't fit properly.
Thanks for the replys. Managed to find a 16 to sit on, definitely felt too long. May go for the 14, only worry is the seat tube would be stuck out a long way. Or perhaps on one aren't the one to go for
i'M 5"6ish (may a touch under...) and had a 14" 456 and it was just too short and small. Went for a 16" Blue pig and it feels perfect. The 14" was tiny.
I've had both 16 and 14.
The 16 ran long but I used a shorter stem 80mm.
The 14 felt more like a conventional fit and I used a 100mm stem.
The 14 felt lighter and a bit more whippy.
edit: but you have long legs - so maybe the 16 for you.
I'm 5'9", 32" inside leg. I ride a 16" and have ridden an 18" - I much prefer the feel of the 16"
Mrs NBT is 5'4" with a 32" inside leg and rides a 14" inbred and loves it.
I could probably fit a longer stem and ride the 14" inbred without too many issues
