Hi

as ex motorbiker/trail biker I was used to bark/brush guards and handlebar muffs and was after something similar for gf on bike (she feels the cold really badly, has tiny hands, so already struggling with shifts etc and thick gloves just make it worse), anywayI found these http://www.breezeblockers.com/index.php

was just after some real world experience if anybody has actually used them

No. But I use Pogies and can thoroughly recommend them

cheers, useful link and search term, poss not for gf as she's not confident and I think not being able to see controls/hands and her feeling she might get her hands stuck would be a problem, at least there appear to be a few choices

There's no way your hands can get stuck, they're just not tight or rigid enough but I appreciate how the idea might impact her.

I cut the sleeves of an old work coat last year, sewed some wire hoops in the big end, slid them over the bars, job done.
They were actually pretty good, the elasticated cuff kept the wind out, they were waterproof, most of the time I rode using my summer gloves.
