What are your thoughts on it and what fork length do you use?
Many thanks.

Yes been riding one for years, fantastic xc bike mines got float 80mm on the front but you would get away with 100mm.
I ride an '06 anthem 1 with 80mm front and the standard 90mm rear, its great, rides like a hardtail most of the time, with some added comfort! I run it fairly tight with fast rebound, but it feels really fast. I replaced the twangy manitou R7 fork with a SID which is soooo much nicer. SID I bought is standard 80/100mm. I'm currently running at 80mm as that is how I bought it off chain reaction, (as the 80mm version of the same fork was more than £100 cheaper than the same fork just with the spacer taken out!) Next time I get the fork serviced, I'm going to try it at 100mm.
I emailed giant before buying the SID, and they reckoned that it would be great set at 100mm but I haven't tried it out yet!
When I had to replace the original 80mm forks on my 06 Anthem I moved up to 100mm. I used to get a lot of pedal strike with the original setup, but this disappeared with the longer fork.
Your 80mm SID will have the spacer in. Very simple to remove spacer, DIY job.
I had an 07 Anthem with 80mm forks, it was fast but it didn't give me much confidence on steep down hills, it had a crazy-steep head angle like 72 or 73 degrees if I remember. It liked putting me over the bars (OK it was my fault for being a skill-less numpty but it's very unforgiving :p ).
