I have,Suntour Epicon 140mm R to be precise.Could the seals be stuck?Will it work on the bike when i sit on it.Hope they haven,t sent me a dud.Any of your experiences greatly appreciated.Monkey.

If it's aired up, you won't be able to compress it by hand. In fact, just to test, I just emptied an RP23 and it's pretty hard to compress even with no pressure.

Course, this doesn't mean yours isn't knackered ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can't hand press it in with or without air.If its been stood for a good while could it be stuck to one of the seals. Will it loosen with my big arse on it.

Not sure about the Epicon, but Floats have a nitrogen charge in the region of 300-400psi, which makes them difficult to compress regardless of how much air is in them, may be that the Epicon has something similar.

Even without air you won't be able to compress it by hand.
The pressure/charge in the damper provides a reasonable spring in itself.

Yeh,it does have a nitrogen damper.That must be it.Cheers.PS any advice on fitting the thing.How do I avoid the rear end falling in on itself.

Use a workstand? It doesn't really matter if it briefly 'falls in on itself' though.
