Curious really.
I need, (no really I do...), to get a new pair of wheels for the ever so fast approaching XC season.
I was thinking tubeless, but quite a few people around here are running tubs with either the new Shwalbe or the classic Dugast ones. I completely buy the cross reason for running tubs, but MTB, not so sure, especially for longer single lap races marathon races.
Anybody got an opinion worth sharing on tubs for XC? ๐
IMO they are a bit pointless - you can't mend a flat in a race and don't offer that many advantages over a nice light Stans setup.
It seems like someone figured out how to make MTB tubs, then set about marketing them as unique and brilliant.

Don't do it โ
Classic XC with pits OK, but yeah, for marathon type events it does seem a little pointless. It would make one serious long walk home in the worst case.
Still, loving the trad looking sidewalls though 8)
