Not a great range of stuff, the Preselis can divert you for a couple of hours if they are frozen or really dry.
There are some woods near Stackpole (where I work) that have a few little trails you can spend and hour or two on...it's open access there so just explore.
Otherwise Brechfa or cheeky rides on the coastpath, but I'd walk sections first cos some bits are unrideable or really exposed (or busy with walkers).
The life of a Pembrokeshire mountain biker is a frustrating one...

Lots of great walking and quiet beaches accessible only after a reasonable walk, or your busy surf spot if that's your bag. Area around Stackpole is lovely (@lister is a lucky man !). We stayed here, food was great and restaurant is open to non residents, Narbeth has a reputation as a foodie centre.

Don't do it the first time you go, you'll be disappointed. Go, have a great time, look round and I'd be surprised if you don't go back as its a lovely part of the world, better to take a bike set up for commuting as there's lovely cycle routes round the back lanes but offroad is few and far between. There is a ridge of hills called the preseli's but it's not brilliant, a bit of a schlep up and not much fun on the down either.
Stunning beaches and walks though, really beautiful.

Agreed. Pembrokeshire is probably my favourite non--biking part of the U.K. I'd take Pembrokeshire over Cornwall every time.

Long time Tenby/Saundersfoot holidayer here, there is plenty around but you need OS maps.Blackpole Mill has some good little woods by it, fun for a couple of hours , I tried the Presellis but it was a struggle but I would say its good when dry. The cliff path through the firing range is spectacular but only open at certain times.. Also some trails by Milford Haven, over bridge at Neyland I think?
As mentioned Brecfa is on the door step and excellent, also Afan is just over an hour back along the M4.
Second a visit to Narbeth, very nice place for food and a stroll.
There's a couple of guys on this forum who live down that way and are much more knowledgable than me, they might be along with some advice.
Matt.

There are trails / routes to ride you just need a local to point em out..
The Knights Way is an easyish ride from Canaston woods

http://www.sparc.org.uk/greenways%20leaflets/PD F's/canaston%20walks.pdf

(paste whole link)

Theres quite a few bits of the coast path which are fun to ride but bikes technically not allowed so its lucky i cant read or become foreign if anyone pulls you up. Most of the rides are pretty easy and more about taking in the coastal scenery rather than flowing down trails. Let me know when you are around as i may be able to take you on a little tour if im off work as i live just outside Tenby.

I've ridden around Canaston and Minwear woods when I've been down that way. Some nice little bits of singletrack.

Yep.. good but muddy track from Blackpool Mill (canaston woods) then just keep going towards Landshipping following the river (again ignore any signs because you cant read english)

FWIW I am planning another Welsh road trip, I will ride at Brechfa and Coed y Brenin and do coastal walks around that part of Pembrokeshire to mix things up.

All the above.

Please be sensible about this, Its a busy path during daylight at holiday times. Conflict with walkers (often stroppy tourists) and National Parks wardens will impact on those of us who live here.

I live near Tenby.. been riding and walking the coast path for over 20 years and know it well. I'm not reckless and ride with care.

Sorry, was pointing that at visitors to the area.
Locals know where/when/how to ride the CP sustainably, met a few visitors who obviously didn't.
Same as anywhere where there is limited riding + pretty sensitive cheek. Plus we've got the added bonus of having allot of retired professional types who like nothing better than complaining about things.

C9 if you're ever up for a ride give me a shout.

Future issue of ST should have a Preselis route guide.
