i know loads of people will say go to brandon country parc etc , but wondered about on site a C.P? i wouldnt mind doing some training each day whilst there next week but are the cycle routes around the woodland all just do-able on a commuter bike type stuff? no point dragging my expensive bike there if its all just very flat p.c.fire road type stuff??

Been there a few times - with the bike tucked away in the back of the car, he he. Would go out early in the AM to ride - never found anything good on site but if you go out the main gate, turn left, cycle about half to a mile there is an abundance of good trails both left and right side of the road.

Happy riding!

Why bike tucked into car? Don't they allow non-cp bikes in?

Haven't been to that Center Parcs, but been to the one at Whinfell Forest.
It's pretty much cycling on paths & you'd need to get out early for a blat around or it'll be too busy to go faster than a moderate pace.

I also found that although it seems like a big place, once you go round it on a bike you'll have done it all in no time at all & will have to do many laps to get in a decent ride in terms of length.

Nothing really and you can do the whole lot in no time at all. best bet is to head out of the site as others said

Head out and take a spin up to Brandon Country Park. It's decent riding then!

I am going there this weekend with the family too.

I was tempted to take my bike but have heard of thefts etc. Bit annoying to spend a fortune hiring their crappy bikes!

Genisis - nope....it just 'fell' in there whilst i was packing the car ! LOL 😆

As for thefts - usual rules apply - dont leave it where you cant see it. The chalets have a large cupboard inside the lobby so you can store it safely inside the building.

Have fun!

what stripe said.

I used to lock my bikes to the hot water/heating pipes in the cupboard.

Thetford forest where D2D takes place is about a mile or two up the road. Someone should have a GPS plot to get you started (I don't though).

Bear in mind it's the 3rd WS race at Mayday meadow at the weekend! So i would stick to Brandon side, especially with the forestry work going (well it was on the 3rd anyhow)

Yeh....Mayday Meadow is good - used to be better before all the felling. Start of the "Beast" in the LH corner.

Happy memories of racing there 8-10 years ago.....
