What forks are you using? I'm thinking of getting some new ones, but not sure what length to go for. At the moment running 130 revelations, which feels good, but the forks are on the way out, so wondering about the newer 150 revs or 44 rc3 Tis, but not sure what it'll do to the handling. Wondering if anyone had experience of longer forks on the frame?
Thanks
Ran one of these for a couple of years on a pair of fox talas rlc 140's... i reckon they were spot on for this frame, really sweet handling on the downs. Very useful having the 100mm setting for the climbs though, i found it wandered at bit uphill at 140. I know people have run these frames with lyrics as well, no idea on how it would handle though... not great would be my guess. 140 is the sweet spot in my opinion
130 seems about the best size - tried some Nixons (145mm)on mine and it was a mistake.
Thanks guys, yeah this was my feeling, like the idea of some 44RC3 Tis, but think I'll have to go for something with travel adjust, revelations or pikes, but the new revs are a bit long at 150 too
I believe all Rev's can be shortened with the spacers included.
I think the 44RC3 Tis would be an awesome choice for the Argon FR.
The handling will be what it will be; to say it would be absolutely good or bad isn't really relevant. It just depends on that you want. The frame will take a 150mm/32mm fork in terms of recommended travel for geometry and warranty.
The current geometry quotes a HA of 68 degrees with a 508mm A2C fork. Going from this to a 150mm fork at 525mm will add 17mm to the front end and less than one degree off the HA. If you've got any spacers between the stem and the headset then you should be able to neutralise the handlebar position by removing them. Ultimately, raising the height of your bars will be more noticeable than the changes to the HA.
Personally I would prefer to run it in the slacker setting with the longer fork, but like I said, everyone is different.
Besides, the Zoke fork would really suit the bike IMO. (I've spent time on an Argon FR, but I don't own one).
Nickf, did you drop the bars and put the seat forward to accomodate the change?

That would like be because the Nixons weren't exactly the best fork on the market 😉 Didn't they also have a very tall axle to crown height?
Nixons are 518 compared to 514 on the zokes, not a huge difference. I was looking at a pair of them on the forum actually

So then I was wrong about the A2C.
I shouldn't be rude about the Nixons. Actually I shouldn't make any comment at all. I've never owned or ridden a pair. Just heard that they had a habit of going wrong.
The Zokes are only 514mm? I thought they were quite a bit taller than that.
150mm Revelations are 525mm aren't they?
somewhere around that, google search says it might might be a bit more (530) which is def a bit long. Feels a bit daft buying them that long and then reducing the travel, though I suppose it can work downhill and then wind them down for general use.
PS it's some 140mm zokes from 2010 rather than the newer 150, which might be taller

Well then I'd definitely plug them in. The Argon I spent time on had 140mm Fox Float 32s and my experience was very positive in that guise. I am however, more of a get up gradually and then come down as fast as possible (which is very frustrating for the wife 😉 )
Pretty certain you can drop the 150 zokes down to 140 with a spacer.
