Had a quick look on eBay and they tend to go for around £150 from across the pond which is way cheaper than here.

I know there maybe some import tax on there but can't see that being too much and also if it goes wrong I am high and dry but is there anything else I should be worrying about?

add on a third for import tax and VAT.

Makes it similar pricing as the UK, or mainland europe. (Don't forget you'll be paying a good £20 for delivery too)

Yeah good point, never mind, is there any issue with buying one when you are over there?

pretty sure you'll be fine, as long as you're not stopped at customs.. 😉

Supposedly not true as the UK SRAM tech centre lately dealt with some US imported fork I had, when asked//pushed as to why they dealt with me, they replied saying it was a worldwide warrenty.
Though whether this hold true on suspension seatposts, I can't say, but same should hold true

Yep, world wide warranty. I had my UK bought lyriks sorted under warranty here in Sweden.
