I went biking in Peaslake, Surrey yesterday and really enjoyed the riding there, despite the pi**ng rain! Nice twisty singletrack through the woods and bracken, and lots of (wet) roots. Really different from my usual riding in the Moors around Rochdale and Lee Quarry etc. So, does anyone know of a Peaslake equivalent anywhere in East Lancs or within a decent driving distance. I'd love to have somewhere like that to mix-up my riding a bit more.

Gisburn

Fairly tame, as you'd perhaps expect woods to be, but some good bits too.

Wharncliffe too far?

Never been and I believe you need to know your way around to find the best bits

I too would say Wharncliffe but you would need a guide

Sorry for the delay. Wharncliffe looks good although a bit too far for regular riding. - cheers.
I've ridden Gisburn and the main routes aren't really the kind of trails at Peaslake, although the North loop is excellent! I presume that there are cheeky trails at Gisburn though, especially in the South loop. Cheers!

Any other ideas?

if its before 15th September, I'd happily give you a guided tour of Wharncliffe if you fancy it as a one off.

Cheers Podge...I may well take you up on your kind offer. Is it just for weekends or are you free on weekdays?

Man up. Those things aren't real trails.
