I've got about 3 hours to kill on Tuesday when I will be in the Plymouth area. Dartmoor is close by so any suggestions for a route of around 20k? I am after specific routes so links to maps showing mtb routes would be much appreciated.

follow the plym valley cycle path from coypool up into Cann woods and go explore for a few hours. Plenty of riding there!

I can't help as I only ride Dartmoor with locals and not very often but there is some great riding there.
Try joining here, http://www.mtbtrailfinder.co.uk
it only take 5 miutes and you can download a dozen different Dartmoor rides from various mags.

the yogi's meet at B&Q marsh mills car park around 6pm. They are a friendly bunch and I can pass you on details if you want.

I have rust returned from a wet, windy and wild Dartmoor. Thanks to every one that made suggestions on routes etc. Special thanks to crispy bacon and sorry to Mbnut as I missed your post. That probably did you a favour as the weather was exceptional.

Yes I did. I had to take the wife to Plymouth and had 4 hours to kill. Loads of space to park the car and didn't see another soul other than someone walking their dog. I managed to dodge most of the downpours but the wind was a tad brisk. Most of the trail was more than moist but the scariest bit was driving back up the M5/M4 to London late this afternoon.
