Am thinking about getting my stepson a GoPro cam to mount on his helmet or bars for his birthday. Anyone here with experience using them and any recommendations among the several versions?
Thanks

Ive had one for a few months now and they are awesome,i had an old camera and when i got the Gopro the difference in quality is out of this world,I use the chest mount as i like the view of the front of the bike and the trails, plus took mine o holiday and had it in the pool and the quality was superb, well worth it,even better if you know someone in the States as you can pick up an silver edition for 180quid instead of 280 over here.

Been great, own a Standard HD nt one of the new ones. Lots of great vids, I would suggest the Chest mount, using the open helmet strap causes mine to steam up - there is a lot of heat rising from my head but it's fine on a Full Face.
Only issue with buying from the states is Warranty, most have been fine but there seem to be some that have been buggy - also it's tax evasion ๐Ÿ™‚

Tell him its on his head, met a chap a few weeks ago, had it fitted on the top of his helmet,he forgot it was there when he got off the train, snapped clean off and fell between platform and train, he had to wait for train to pull out before he could get it back.

Expensive but they do seem good, also have a look at the 7 day shop ones. a lot cheaper and 12 months guarantee.

My original HD has been hiking, biking, surfing, motor racing & scuba diving & has always given decent results. Chest mount gives best biking footage IMO.

Most/all of these are shot on GoPro I think.

Thanks for the input guys---sounds like it will be his birthday present. I'm in the US, so won't have the warranty issues.
