Looking to fit some new forks on a 2007 Specialized Hardrock Sport.
1 1/8th Steerer. I'm guessing 100mm would be the max travel you'd want/need.
Any good deals about?
Go second hand.
I would if it were me but it's for a mate who wants new so you get a warranty etc etc.
Would 120mm upset the geometry of th efront end?
Reba Race 2010 - £287
That's about as much as the whole bike cost new!
Yeah BoardinBob's right - good deal but not worth it on this level of bike.
Was thinking more like Marzocchi 22 RLOs which can be had for around £130 or bit more for the Remote version.
Would the 120mm version be too much for the bike height wise?
Each to their own - you didn't specify a price 🙂 however I missed the Cheap bit sorry 😳
I've got some Rockshox J4s (adjustable travel) with remote lockout you can have for a tenner + postage.
Can guarantee they'll need a bit of TLC as they've been sitting in my shed for a couple of years; once that's done they'll be okish forks once more.
You're right Foxy - basic schoolboy error on my part 😳
Rob - I'll take 'em!
I'll drop you a mail, thanks.
Cheap 'n' cheerful wins the day!
He's still gonna get new forks but the cheap'n'cheerful will find a home on another bike 😀
🙂
have a look at the marzocchi 44's on CRC for £200. should be spot on!
Cheers Peachos - will do.
what about rockshox tora's, best value forks out there imo
I put recons on my 2007 hardrock and they improved the bike a lot
Cheers Folks
I'll pass on all the ideas.
