I'm considering a new drivetrain and upgrading to a 2x10 setup with XT looking like the best option (although alternatives considered).

I'd need a pair of shifters, crankset, cassette, chain and front and rear mechs. Pretty much everything really.

Are there any cheap deals out there at present?*

*Sorry if this has been done before 🙄

Rose have/had XT groupsets for £300 and SLX for £200. Tripple though IIRC.

Will take a look at Rose Bikes, thanks. Although 2x10 is what I'm after.

Cheers george, do you have any experience of buying from bike-components.de?

Actually, I suppose I need to do some gearing ratio research. I've always run traditional 44-32-22 front and 11-32 rear. Therefore I need to understand what rings and cassette to use in a 2x10 setup :-S

I've bought from them once or twice (can't remember what) and had no problems whatsoever.

Edit - Bought three times from them, tyres, deraillerurs/shifters, and birzman tools.

Take a few days to arrive, but everything's been spot on.

I bought the black 2x10 XT groupset from bike-components.de about 6 weeks ago.
I went from the same setup as you have and opted for 28/40 chainset and a 11-34 cassette, I'm finding I'm using almost all of the gear combinations and don't feel I'm missing any after the change.
Very good service and all the parts (except the cassette) were in prpoer Shimano boxes so not OE stuff taken from other bikes etc.
The whole lot came to £385 delivered which is £100 saving on RRP.

I would definitely recommend them as no different to CRC etc.
