Does anyone know if Green Arms Road is still closed into Chapeltown?

There were signs saying it was closed last time I went to Entwistle that way.

And if so, is it closed to all traffic including bikes?

Blocked completely a week ago.

Had to turn round and come back.

Closed till December for bridge repairs according to network rail. Can always head along Witton weaver's way to Turton Tower or across entwistle past the Duck and round that way. Not sure if that's possible on a road bike but mtb Defo.

the bridge is out. from the darwen side head down green arms - left down to entwistle and upto the duck - a little gravely but I'd it on a road bike

obviously this works the otherway - head to edgworth - left down to the duck and over the dam upto greenarms

& just to confirm the last question.

It is closed to all traffic, foot, bike & cars.

& the route to the Duck is fine on a road bike if you have good pressure in your tyres. I would not go on the track to Turton Tower on a road bike.

It's my local pump track.

A small car is OK with slow care.
I would not drive a standard estate down there.

A bit of my visible history is being consigned to the scrap metal dealers.
25 years ago a friend and I (he was driving) wrote off a triumph dolomite into that bridge.
Chapeltown > Egerton > Bromley Cross was always a bit of a racing circuit.
Happy days ๐Ÿ™‚
