My 2008 XT shadow rear mech has really a annoying wobble/rattle so new mech time.
There are lots of various models out there at varying prices...
M772 at local bike shop down to £48 - M771 at Merlin for £55 or older non-shadow M761 at Merlin for a more reasonable £35...what one would you get - will the cheapo be ok?
Other option is FS forum here but even then you're looking at c.£30 for a 2nd shadow mech so hardly worth it for something that may already have a few 'issues'.
PS How the hell did non-discounted XT mechs get to be £70-75? 😯
£75 is for the new 10 speed shadow plus version which won't work with 9 speed shifters.
If you put up a wanted ad you should be able to pick up a decent condition 9 M772 speed mech for £30ish, if not a good nick xtr version for £40. LBS price not bad though for a new m772
